PLEASE NOTE: You must pay a $10 fee to enroll in this CE program to earn 2.0 CE credits and a certificate of completion for each course.

This 2-part program covers core skills in evidence-based public health practice and critical appraisal of research evidence. These trainings are designed to help public health professionals strengthen their ability to identify, interpret, and apply research findings to practice and policy decisions. The program consists of two self-paced components—each providing a foundation in using and assessing public health evidence.

To view this program as complete in your transcript, you must complete ALL 2 components within this program. Completion of each component will be tracked for program completion. You will earn a separate certificate of completion and CE for each of the two components below upon completion of the course requirements.

  1. Evidence-based Public Health Practice: What It Is and Why It Matters (On Demand–CE)
    Format: Recorded webinar
    Estimated Time: 60 minutes (1.0 contact hour)
  2. Critical Appraisal of Public Health Evidence (Self Paced–CE)
    Format: Self-paced training
    Estimated Time: 60 minutes (1.0 contact hour)

Total estimated time for completion: 2 hours (2.0 contact hours)

Audience

Entry and mid-career individuals in public health, particularly those in governmental agencies

Continuing Education Credit

CE and certificate available for $10.

  1. Evidence-based Public Health Practice: What It Is and Why It Matters (On Demand–CE): 1.0 CHES Category I CECH (Areas of Responsibility: 8.1.5, 5.1.2)*
  2. Critical Appraisal of Public Health Evidence (Self Paced-CE): 1.0 CHES Category I CECH (Areas of Responsibility: 1.1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.4, 1.3.8)*; Up to 1 CPH Recertification Credits may be earned at this event

*We report credits to NCHEC on a quarterly basis: January, April, July, and October.
