Critical Appraisal of Public Health Evidence is going to walk you through some easy steps that you can use to ask good questions, find the evidence you're looking for, and make good sense of how well that evidence represents the information you're looking for. Throughout this course, you'll have an opportunity to participate in some small activities and a reference guide to use at the end.

Audience

Entry and mid-career individuals in public health, particularly those in governmental agencies

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the principles of evidence appraisal (CHES Area of Responsibility 1.1.2, 1.3.8)
  • Describe the steps to find and appraise evidence (Assess, Ask, Acquire, Appraise, Apply) (1.2.1)
  • Describe the different types of biases that impact quality of evidence (1.2.4)
