This recorded training introduces public health professionals to concepts and practical approaches to incorporating strategic thinking and systems-change concepts into their everyday work. The session will be participatory and engaging with participants completing different learning activities alongside the recording. This is the first of two sessions in a systems and strategic thinking series.

Audience

Public health practitioners working in governmental public health, in particular, those who are involved in or have an interest in strategic thinking and systems change work

  • Explain why strategic thinking is critical in public health work
  • Ensure that your everyday work is aligned with strategic questions
  • Explain why systems change work is necessary to address complex public health challenges
  • Identify areas within your work that have the potential to create positive change at a root cause level
  • Describe areas of work that would benefit from a more strategic and/or systems change lens
