This recorded training prepares public health professionals and nurses with tools and insights needed for effective pain management. Over the course of three modules, participants will first gain a foundational understanding of pain types, epidemiology, and substance use disorder. Module two covers the critical aspects of appropriate medication use in pain management. The training concludes in module three with biases in chronic pain and nonpharmacologic modalities. By combining these strategies, this training aims to enhance the ability of public health nurses and professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Audience
Nurses, public health nurses, and other public health and healthcare professionals (those working in health departments, FQHCs, etc.)
Learning Outcome
At the conclusion of the educational activity, participants will self-report knowledge gain of effective strategies for addressing pain management across various settings using a 4-point Likert scale.

- Describe pain and its impact on health
- Identify strategies for appropriate and safe medication use in pain management
- Describe how to improve population-health of people with pain
- Identify non-pharmacological strategies for treatment of chronic pain
