This course provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to prepare for creating an agency workforce development plan. Through a series of three one-hour webinars, participants will be introduced to the process of writing a workforce development plan (WDP). Upon completion of the course, participants will have a plan for developing their next WDP. This content is aligned with PHAB Standard 8.2: Ensure a competent workforce through the assessment of staff competencies, the provision of individual training and professional development and the provision of a supportive work environment, and Reaccreditation Measure 8.2: The health department’s workforce has the multidisciplinary skills needed for the health department to achieve its mission, goals, and objectives. This first live webinar in the series will provide an overview of process and expectations for the webinar series; discuss the process of developing a Workforce Development Plan; provide an overview of required components, how to prepare, and who to include on your team.
