This discussion-based session will provide a safe space for front-line public health workers to share their experiences regarding the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The session will provide tools on how to manage stress and distress through adjusting coping mechanisms, understanding the impact of stress, and improving self-care. Participants will be able to share personal and professional experiences revolving around challenges faced at work and juggling personal and professional lives during a pandemic. This space will allow them to open up about the mental, emotional, and physical toll they may have experienced during this time. Information provided will aim to equip participants and help them feel empowered to do things for their well-being. This session will be offered 3 times: Nov. 30, 2021, Dec. 14, 2021, and Jan. 18, 2022. Please only enroll in 1 session. Participation will be capped at 75 participants per session.
Audience
Frontline COVID-19 responders (contract tracers, case investigators, ICS staff, and other health department staff)
Learning Objectives
- Reduce a sense of isolation by connecting through shared experiences
- Promote solidarity in the midst of a range of emotions and stress responses
- Emphasize resources for further psychological support as needed
